W dniach 20-29 kwietnia odbył się w Karlsruhe/Baden silny turniej w szachach klasyczynych.
Zdecydowane zwycięstwo odniósł mistrz świata Magnus Carlsen. Na uwagę zasługuje wynik 14-letniego Niemca Vincenta Keymera, który w tak silnym turnieju zdobył 2 punkty.
