Puchar Świata w Goa, który rozpoczął się 31 października, został zakończony. Do turnieju kandydatów (marzec-kwiecień 2026) zakwalifikowali się Wei Yi, Javokhir Sindarov i Andrey Esipenko.
Ostatecznym zwycięzcą turnieju, który w dogrywce pokonał Wei Y, został Javokhir Sindarov. Ma zaledwie 19 lat, ale już osiągnął wiele znaczących sukcesów. Uzbecki arcymistrz świętował w Goa swój największy triumf.
Za to zwycięstwo otrzymał 120.000 USD i puchar, natomiast Wei Yi 85.000 USD.

W ten sposób aktualna lista uczestników turnieju kandydatów jest już znana: Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, Matthias Blübaum oraz Hikaru Nakamura. Do tego grona dołączy jeszcze jeden zawodnik.
Polscy zawodnicy, jak podałem już w poprzednim odcinku, nie odegrali większej roli. Ale taka jest sytuacja w polskich szachach męskich.
